Quick question when someone asks you what is the hottest cell on the market what is the first mobile that comes to mind? The iPhone of course but if you were to take a quick poll of all those loyal iP users about their greatest complaint about their precious smart cell, do you know that issue would be? Problems with the network, dropped calls in “well covered” areas, thanks AT&T
Yes the biggest problem with the iP market is the network platform that Apple chose to bring their hot product to. You would think that after all these years of people sharing blog posts, forum comments and online media sources reporting all these issues that Apple would have made a move to a more reliable and let’s face it the most popular mobile service as well, thank you Verizon
The Hottest Cell
No question the iP has revolutionized the smart cell market and has manage to blow the market away for the last few years. Guess what though that huge advantage that they managed to build up over the last few years is starting to shrink and it’s getting smaller all the time as more challengers keep coming to market faster and faster.
The latest challenge to the iP kingdom is the new Droid from Verizon and to say the least wow has the marketing been big on this one. I am sure you have seen all those teaser commercials that have been all over the TV the last two weeks as they try and build up excitement for their new product.
Based on the few cell reviews that I have seen comparing the Droid to the iPhone it looks like Apple will retain the crown for now. I think the bigger problem for them is that long term they may have lost their window of opportunity to jump ship from AT&T as the deal between Google and Verizon looks pretty solid. Word has it that Droid is only the beginning and that we will be seeing a lot more Android 2.0 powered cells coming in just the next year alone.
Blackberry
I was full of iP love when I first got mine unfortunately my desire to have a mobile service that actually kept me connected to the people I was communicating with over rode my obsession and I had to eventually give it up. I have been a Crackberry user for the last year but my contract is coming up on renewal and it may be time to move on up to one of these fancy new Android 2.0 mobiles.
